Early to mid 20th century blue and white "terre de fer" ironstone pitcher with decorative irises imprinted on the pitcher's body and along its lip. “Terre de Fer” is a trade stamp that denotes fine earthenware, halfway between earthenware and porcelain. (Terre de Fer is an earthenware which is mixed with feldspat, a mineral compound, and kaolin, to make it whiter and more resistant). A gorgeous piece to use as a water pitcher for your table or to use decoratively as a vase.
