We Are Believers In The Power of Gathering At The Table
There is power in gathering at the table. Life is shared, spirits collide, and souls are fed.
The table is a place that'll bring you joy.
It's a place where you will experience moments and make memories.
William Morris said, "Fellowship is life," because life is better when we share it.
Cesare Pavese said, "We do not remember days, we remember moments," because we all remember the beautiful moments and how spaces and events made us feel.
Madame de la Maison wants to help you create moments and memories.
We work with 100% linen, which is a sustainable material and the only original fabric to Europe. We collect, sell, and rent antiques to give new life to old objects.
Renting and buying antiques is a way to combat the incredible amounts of waste coming from the fashion and textile industry without cramping your style.
The backstory About Ajiri Aki, Founder of Madame de la Maison
Ajiri Aki, born in Nigeria and raised in Texas, spent 10 years working in New York City in the fashion industry for companies including W Magazine, WWD, DNR, and Suede Magazine. Originally an editor and stylist, she then ventured into costume history while working at The Costume Institute of The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Museum of the City of New York. In 2015 Ajiri co-authored with Stacey Caldwell, “Where’s Karl?: A fashion forward parody”. A New York Times Bestseller illustration book revolving around the fashion industry’s love and obsession with Karl Lagerfeld that was published by Clarkson Potter (Random House) and became an instant success.
She currently lives in Paris with her husband and two small children.
