FAQs

How do I get to Provence? We recommend flying into Paris and taking the TGV high-speed train to Aix-en-Provence. We'll organize cars to pick you up from the station -- the villa is about an hour away. All transportation from that point is included.
Why should I go to the South of France in the fall? Autumn in Provence is breathtaking -- the vineyards are preparing for harvest, the light is golden, and the crowds are gone. It's the best kept secret about this region.
Why does the retreat end on a Thursday? So you have a full weekend to add on a trip to Paris, the Côte d'Azur, or more of Provence. We can help you plan and book whatever comes next.
Where are the villas for this retreat?
The villa is in Gordes, a hilltop village in the Luberon area of Provence. A seven to ten minute walk puts you right in the center of town. The other villa is in Menerbes, surrounded by vineyards in the same town Peter Mayle lived in from A Year in Provence.
What time should I plan to arrive?
We kick off the retreat with a welcome apéro and dinner, however, depending on the arrival times of all the guests, we will potentially start with a lunch in Paris and ride the train South together.
What will our days in The South of France look like?
We’ll start every day with breakfast at the villa, followed by an excursion into town or a nearby village, have lunch together, some free time in the village, apéro and dinner at the villa. No two days will be exactly the same and we will sometimes have guests join us for chats or to share their work. I will share some of my processes in table styling, antique shopping, about finding joie de vivre, and we will having intentional conversations and gatherings. Every day free time will be scheduled to allow you time to rest, recharge or make your own plans.
