Silver-Plated Boulenger Louis XV Sugar Tongs with Lion Paws


Early 20th century silver-plated Louis XV sugar tongs with detailed lion paws, embossed with the texture of its fur and ending in sharp little claws to better grip the sugar. The handle's relief is an oval surrounded by pearls and stylized acanthus leaves. Perfect for serving sugar cubes or savory snacks such as olives or cornichons.

The forks are stamped by the manufacturer, Boulenger, who was one of the first silversmiths in Paris, dating from 1810. Boulenger was the main silversmith for the French Navy.
