Silver-Plated Louis XVI Tart Server with Scroll Detail

€115.00

Early to mid-20th century silver-plated Louis XVI tart server with a unique etched scroll enveloped by a flower and leaves atop an etched geometric background. The server's base ends in a charming scalloped edge.

The handle bears the royal symbols of Louis XVI: the arrows of justice crossed with a flaming torch of truth are joined by a bow tied ribbon. The flaming torch is an ancient symbol of life, truth and the regenerative power of fire while the quiver of arrows signifies the ability to use force in the pursuit of justice.

The server is stamped by the manufacturer SFAM the "Société Française d’Alliage de Métaux," which was created in 1926 in Bornel in Oise, France. As well as "métal alliage blanc" meaning white alloy metal.
