Rare antique late 19th century "terre de fer" ironstone pitcher with a green “Jardinièrs” floral decoration and diamond motif around the rim.
The pitcher would have originally been used to carry water for bathing before homes had running water. The wide neck and generous proportions make it perfect for serving water and other soft drinks, but it could also be used as a vase.
Ste Amandinoise tableware has been produced in northern France since 1705. The company is known as a pioneer of French ceramics.
